  Did you know....
During the 1700's the town of "Providence" was a Mississippi River trading post between New Orleans and Memphis.
The present town of Lake Providence was laid out in 1833 and incorporated on July 3, 1876.

Building and Residences of the Lake Providence Area currently listed on the National Register of Historic places include:
  • The Old Courthouse, built in 1902
  • Byerley House (circa 102)
  • Bass House (circa 1876)
  • Delony House (circa 1869)
  • Fisher-Pittman-Brown House (circa 1900)
